Services
Alpha Design Ltd has gained experience from the
wide range of projects it has been involved with. From smaller
but highly complicated structures with high client requirements
to larger industrial buildings with simpler, more modest considerations.
We have developed a range of services we promote
as core business strategies so the client has the opportunity
to use us as a 'one stop shop' from concept to completion. These
services are listed below.
Architectural Building Design and Planning
Consultancy.
Our consultants have many years experience in
the English Planning system and can advise and prepare applications
in order to gain the best chance of success for planning permission.
Our experience can help in recommending alternative solutions
to complicated issues when dealing with Local Authority planners.
We also can provide advice on the current Building
Regulations to support a building regulation application either
to the Local Authority or outside inspectors to satisfy statutory
responsibilities for construction.
In support of the above, we use the latest Architectural
AutoCAD software for all our designs and details. We also have
3D rendering packages to create full building building visualisations
and walk throughs to provide the client with the most informed
images prior to any construction work starting.
We are also able to provide vehicle swept path
analysis details using a database of any type of vehicle. This
is very useful tool as Town Planners/Highway engineers are requesting
these details more and more frequently to consider planning applications
viability.
Under the CDM 2007 regulations, designers employed
by the client should be deemed competant. One way of demonstrating
competence is being accepted onto a register with a professional
organisation after passing a test on the CDM regulations.
We are pleased to say we are registered with the Association
of Project Safety and have been accepted on their Designers register.

Project Management.
Alpha Design Ltd has the capacity to move the
development from design phase to construction phase. We have experience
in specification, construction planning, tendering procedures
and contract administration.
Using the NBS specification together with either
the NEC or JCT contract, the client can feel the development is
being push forward professionally to its satisfactory conclusion.
CDM Co-Ordinator.
Alpha Design Ltd can provide the client with CDM
Co-ordinator roles to enable the client to make informed decisions
on his responsiblities in those regulations. Also under the new
CDM regulations its it expressly forbidden to move to a design
stage of a project without a CDM-C being involved. As members
of the Association of Project Safety, we are bound by its rules
and requirements. Our membership can be found at the APS website

The service is well placed in the company to
compliment its design and management services and to engage safe
working practices to satisfy the onerous responsiblities the project
will bring.
Disabled access consultancy.
Following recent regulation changes in access
for disabled people, the client may wish to gain advice and recommendations
on the Disabled Descrimination Regulations and how it effects
his premises.
Being planners, designers and project managers
we are able to use our technical knowledge to make common sense
recommendations to guide the client through this minefield of
regulations.
BRE SBEM Competent Person.
Alpha Design Ltd has now been approved under
the the BRE Competent Person Scheme to undertake Simplified Building
Energy Model Calculations using iSBEM software. This is a requirement
under the current Building Regulations when a non-domestic building
is proposed and compliance with Document L2 is required.
It is important to note that the Building
Regulations recommend only competent persons undertake this calculation,
and other companies who are not registered that provide this calculation
can be rejected by Building Control. Wasting time and money.
