Energy & the Building Regulations.

 

The Building regulations have been updated significantly over the past few years. Part L is now 4 separate documents coving domestic and non domestic construction. It requires more emphaisis on building energy use than ever before. Energy use in a building is mainly from heating, lighting, auxillary power, equipment etc and this information is used to make a energy assessment based on the National Calculation Methodology.

 

We are accredited with the Building Research establishment (BRE) as

'Competent persons' to undertake Part L SBEM calculations. This means

building control are obliged to take the calculations without challenge. If

you employ a non-competent person, building control may not accept

them and they would need to be done again by someone else... So why

take the risk.
